The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akuapem South, Paul Osae Offei, ordered the eviction of squatters occupying an Assembly property at Dumpong originally designed to support the operations of the Judicial Service of the municipality.
The structure, which had been abandoned and left unused for nearly five years, had gradually been taken over by squatters, leaving the facility in a deteriorated and unhygienic condition.
But, following an inspection, the MCE directed the immediate evacuation of occupants and ordered urgent renovation works to restore the facility for official Assembly use.
According to the Assembly, the move forms part of ongoing efforts to reclaim and protect public properties while improving service delivery across the Municipality.
