The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has launched mandatory site verification visits for importers of frozen chicken, meat, and fish, aiming to strengthen the regulation of imported frozen products, and promote food safety in Ghana.

The inspections will enable the FDA to confirm that products entering the Ghanaian market are produced in hygienic, safe, and regulated environments that meet required standards.

The FDA emphasized that protecting public health begins with ensuring the safety and quality of consumed food.

The Authority reiterated that consumer well‑being remains its priority and urges the public to report any unsafe food products.
