The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has held talks with the Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, to discuss the National Defence University Ghana Bill, 2026.
The meeting, part of pre-session engagements, aimed to brief the Majority Leader in Parliament, Mahama Ayariga, on key bills, including the Defence University Bill.

Mr. Genfi said Cabinet has approved the bill, a joint initiative with the Ministry of Education, for submission to Parliament.
The bill seeks to establish a central coordinating authority to regulate and supervise defence education and training within the Ghana Armed Forces, ensuring academic standards and quality assurance.

The team, including top officials from the Defence Ministry, emphasized the need for a unified framework to award degrees and certificates under a recognized authority.
