Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman Freddy Blay has endorsed Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, in his bid for the position of the party’s National Chairman.
Blay endorsed the latter during a private meeting with Wontumi and his campaign team at his residence.
He commended the “solid team” assembled by Wontumi and offered personal accolades to each member present.

Describing his endorsement as “sincere,” Blay pledged to support Wontumi “every step of the way.”
Addressing Wontumi’s ongoing court cases, Blay prayed for “strength, endurance, and perseverance” for the Ashanti Regional Chairman before offering his blessings and counsel.
“This is the time for Chairman Wontumi. This is his moment. He is the man of the moment,” Blay added.

The two also discussed campaign strategy, with Blay highlighting Greater Accra and Eastern Region as key areas requiring focus.
The meeting marks a significant boost for Wontumi’s campaign from one of the NPP’s senior figures as he contests the national chairmanship while facing legal challenges.
