Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration has dismissed reports that it ordered Africans with expired immigration waivers to leave the country by May 31, 2026, describing them as “completely untrue.”
In a press clarification issued from Phnom Penh on Friday, May 29, the department said it had observed reportage from the Ghanaian media space, claiming “Cambodia Orders Africans with Expired Immigration Waivers to Leave by May 31, 2026.”
“The information published on those websites is completely untrue,” the General Department of Immigration stated.
The department advised the public to obtain official information from its website at www.immigration.gov.kh or through its hotline at (+855) 78 38 66 99.
