Margaret Kpeli, believed to be in her late 30s, was retrieved unconscious from the rubble of a collapsed two-storey building at Adentan Newsite on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 and later confirmed dead.
She was one of five people trapped when the building near Da Yesu Ase Supermarket came down during heavy rains.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received an emergency call at 6:36pm. and ended rescue operations at 10:54pm.
Four other occupants were pulled out alive with injuries: Fred Atagba, also in his late 30s; Solomon; and two children, Seyeram Dzigda and David Dzigda. All four were taken to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.

A dog was also rescued alive from the structure.
Margaret Kpeli’s body has been handed over to the Adentan District Police for preservation and further investigation.
