Actor and filmmaker, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has disclosed the reason behind his absence from the 15th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards.
According to the award-winning actor, his decision not to attend the ceremony was deliberate, as he feared his presence could have resulted in an altercation with an individual he declined to identify.
Speaking about the incident, LilWin revealed that he had initially planned to attend the event held on Sunday, June 7, 2026. However, heavy rainfall disrupted his travel arrangements, causing him to miss his scheduled flight from Kumasi to Accra.
As an alternative, he opted to make the journey by road. However, upon reaching Suhum in the Eastern Region, he began experiencing unsettling thoughts that prompted him to abandon the trip and return home.
“After missing my flight because of the heavy rain, I decided to travel by road to Accra. However, when I got to Suhum, I started having thoughts that made me uncomfortable, so I turned back and returned home. I honestly believe I would have ended up beating someone,” he stated.
When asked whether the issue involved a specific individual, the actor confirmed that it did, but chose not to reveal the person’s identity.
