Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) court correspondent Ama Brako Ampofo has received Women In Leadership award at the 2nd JAMILA International Women’s Forum, marking her second recognition in two months.

The event was held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre under the theme “Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures.”

Speaking after receiving the award, Ampofo thanked God and credited her growth to humility and continuous learning.

“Everyone knows journalism work is never easy. It’s not easy to be a court correspondent, but one thing that makes me stay focused is continuous learning and staying humble in everything,” she said.

She expressed gratitude to her newsroom team at Angel 102.9FM, including her news editor, deputy news editor, colleagues, and fellow court correspondents. She also acknowledged judges she has worked with for their advice and motivation.

Ampofo dedicated the award to her parents, Ben Nketia Asare and Christiana Asare, for their support and counsel.

This is her second award in recent months. “Just about last month, I received the Diamond Excellent Awards, and today, I received one from Jamila Trust,” she noted.

Addressing young journalists, she said: “Hard work does not kill. So, if you are doing the job, do it wholeheartedly. Also, add truth and hope to the job.”

She pledged to keep working hard as the public expects and thanked JAMILA Trust for the honour.
