The Queen Mother of Salman in the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area of the Western Region, Obaahemaa Eba Bolofole II, has called on the Western Regional House of Chiefs and the government to intervene urgently in what she describes as growing concerns over the treatment of traditional authorities in the area.
Speaking to journalists on recent developments, the Queen Mother expressed dissatisfaction with the actions allegedly taken against her and the divisional chief of Salma, Nana Kwamina Bentum II, by an individual she described as an acclaimed Paramount Chief within the traditional area.

According to Obaahemaa Eba Bolofole II, the current situation is undermining the dignity and integrity of the traditional institution.
She stressed that traditional customs and established procedures must be respected to preserve peace, unity, and development within the area.
“We know the right thing to do, yet some actions being taken are not in line with our traditions,” she stated, warning that such developments could have negative consequences for the future progress of Salma and the wider Eastern Nzema Traditional Area.
The Queen Mother further noted that the apparent disregard for traditional norms threatens the respect and authority that chieftaincy institutions have enjoyed over the years.
She expressed concern that if the situation is not addressed, it could create divisions and hinder development efforts within the community.
She therefore appealed to the Western Regional House of Chiefs and the government to step in as a matter of urgency to ensure that the right procedures are followed and that peace and order are maintained in the traditional area.
