Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has clarified that the salary of Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz is $80,000 and not the overstated $100,000 as speculated.
In an interview on Accra-based 3FM, the minister explained that “Carlos Queiroz earns $80,000 a month, not the $100,000 that had been speculated.”
Mr. Adams’ clarification followed the widespread rumours about the earnings of the veteran Portuguese tactician following his short-term appointment.
The 73-year-old, who led the four-time African champions to the Round of 32 stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, was appointed as the successor to Otto Addo in March.
With his contract set to expire, reports suggest that the Ghana Football Association, together with the Sports Ministry, has begun talks to extend the stay of the former Colombia, Iran, and Egypt coach.
