Ghana Premier League powerhouse Accra Hearts of Oak has appointed Richard Kingson as the club’s new goalkeepers’ coach.
In a statement on Monday, July 27, 2026, the Phobians announced the return of one of their legends to the club in a coaching capacity.
Hearts of Oak described the move as a homecoming for the former Black Stars stopper, albeit to develop the next generation of goalkeepers at the Accra-based outfit.
“A legend returns. From guarding the post to grooming the next generation. Welcome home, Richard Kingson, our new Goalkeepers’ Coach,” the statement announced.
After Kingson retired, he went into coaching. Since May 2017, he has served as goalkeeper’s coach for the Black Stars and Accra Great Olympics.
