I just want to see both wives living in harmony– Daddy Lumba’s family head

Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, popularly known as Tupac and the family head of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, has called for peace and reconciliation between the musician’s wives following his one-year remembrance ceremony.

Addressing attendees at the event, the family elder explained that his responsibility as Abusuapanyin requires him to remain impartial whenever disagreements arise within the family. He stressed that his foremost responsibility is to encourage harmony rather than division.

He noted that it is impossible to fully understand the private burdens another person may be carrying, urging everyone to approach family disputes with compassion and empathy instead of anger.

“As the family’s Abusuapanyin, I cannot align myself with one side against another. My duty is to promote peace. None of us truly knows the battles someone else is fighting. A person may be struggling in silence without telling anyone, making it difficult for others to offer support,” he stated.

Kofi Owusu expressed confidence that, following the successful commemoration of Daddy Lumba’s first anniversary, the time is right for healing and reconciliation within the family, particularly between the late musician’s spouses.

He also said he believes that, with God’s guidance, reconciliation is achievable and urged both women to put aside the public exchanges of accusations and curses in the interest of family unity.

“Our greatest wish is to see peace restored. That is why I continue to plead with them to end the insults and curses. My heartfelt desire is to witness the day when both wives live peacefully with each other,” he said.

The family elder further assured that if the two women reconcile and choose to work together in preserving and celebrating Daddy Lumba’s legacy, he would willingly offer his support in his role as Abusuapanyin.

“Should they reconcile and decide to honour the memory of the late legend together, and they seek my guidance as the family’s Abusuapanyin, I will gladly stand with them and provide every assistance they need,” he added.

His comments come amid ongoing public interest in the relationship between Daddy Lumba’s wives following the legendary musician’s passing, as relatives continue efforts to protect and uphold the enduring legacy of one of Ghana’s most celebrated highlife icons.
