Ghanaian blogger and philanthropist Kobby Kyei has broken down in tears while recounting how rapper Sarkodie fully funded his left eye surgery about six years ago.
Kobby Kyei revealed that the incident occurred at a time he was financially constrained and needed urgent medical attention.
He made the disclosure during an interview with Sarkodie on Nana Ama McBrown’s Onua Showtime, which was monitored by Angel Online on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
According to him, after discussing the situation with his wife, he contacted Sarkodie’s manager, Angelo, to reach out to the rapper on his behalf.
“About five, six years ago, I had to do a surgery on my left eye, but it was really tough for me, so I discussed with my wife and contacted Angelo to speak to Sark for me. And he sent me the full payment of the surgery,” he stated.
Kobby Kyei further credited Sarkodie for playing a pivotal role in his career growth, describing him as his biggest inspiration.
“God bless him so much for inspiring me. The Kobby Kyei everybody literally knows and they follow and see my works, the biggest credit is Sarkodie. God bless him so much,” he said.
His emotional appreciation has since attracted commendations from viewers, with many applauding Sarkodie for his benevolence.
