The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has cancelled the 2019/20 league season.
The decision was taken following a marathon meeting on Monday by the FA’s Executive Council (EXCO).
This was confirmed by the GFA in a tweet.
“The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has taken a decision to cancel the 2019/2020 football season following a marathon meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the GFA Secretariat in Accra. Details soon!”.
The cancellation has become necessary following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus forcing suspension of public gathering which affected the league.
Though the ban on gathering was eased allowing some sporting events to start, football which is the biggest sport in Ghana was not included.
