A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth, in the Tema West Constituency, has called on the party’s national executives to advise persons behind negative publications against their MP, Carlos Ahenkorah.

According to the Concerned Youth of Tema West (CYTW), some regional executives are behind these publications.

They mentioned Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey, Regional Chairman, Divine Agorhum, Regional second Vice Chairperson, Joan Ada and Irene Naa Torshie, as those scheming and planting untruths about Mr Ahenkorah.

A statement jointly signed by David Appiah, Nana Kwaku Nimo and Joyce Ago Avivor, chairman, secretary and organiser respectively, the group claimed to be “reliably informed about all their plans to make Carlos unpopular and later send a petition to the national council and NEC to get him changed. This agenda is orchestrated and sponsored by Agorhum, Ashitey, Joana and Torshie,” they alleged.

“But we want to assure them, we the Youth of Tema West are solidly behind our Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Candidate, Kingsley Carlos Ahenkorah,” they added.

They said the Greater Accra Regional Chairman has never liked Carlos because he believed, Carlos did not support his bid to become regional Chairman. Mr Agorhum is also believed have sponsored a candidate through a close associate, to contest Carlos during the party’s just-ended parliamentary primaries, but lost the contest.

The second Vice Chairperson, Joana Ada is also alleged to have supported and sponsored one Kwasi Poku, another candidate who also lost his bid to become the constituency’candidate.

“We are sending a strong warning to them to stay away from Carlos. Internal elections are over! What crime has the man committed for them to hate him so much,” the group quizzed.
