The Central Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has offered GH¢5,000 reward to anyone who volunteers credible information that leads to the arrest of four men who were alleged to have robbed a man of his money at Cape Coast.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the coronation Street in the Cape Coast Metropolis of the Central Region.
Addressing journalists in Cape Coast on Wednesday following the crime, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Central Regional Police Command, Madam Irene Oppong said “We also have GH¢5,000 as a reward for anyone who will give credible information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
With residents expressing fear of becoming victims of such crimes, the Police Command said it is scaling up security to offer the needed protection.
“The Command wants to assure the general public that there is no cause for alarm, security situation is good and we have strategised to help us to get the perpetrators arrested.
“Everybody can freely go about his or her duty and the assurance is that we will continue to protect as it is the mandate of the Service” the PRO stressed.
Meanwhile, police said the victim whose name was given as Mensavi Amuzuglo, is currently responding to treatment at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
Incident
On Wednesday, there was a daylight robbery in Cape Coast where, four men with guns on two motorbikes, followed a 73-year-old man from a bank, where he withdrew a huge sum of money, to a shop he entered to buy building materials.
According to reports, the robbers confronted the man for the money and shot him in the leg after he struggled with them, and made away with the full amount after overpowering him.
