The Black Stars are optimistic about their chances going up against their Ethopian counterparts in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The game between the two countries will be played on neutral grounds in South Africa at the Olando Stadium on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 15:00Hrs GMT.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) declared the Bahir Dar Stadium unfit to host international games after failing to meet at least seven of its requirements, including a standard medical, VIP and media centres as well as training facilities for the stadium.

The stars after touching down in South Africa on Tuesday, held their first training session ahead of the group G encounter barely 24 hours to kick off.

Communications Director for the GFA, Henry Asante Twum, who spoke to Kumasi-based Nyira FM, monitored by Angelfmonline.com.gh, indicated that his conversation with the players before, during and after their first training session proved the team is poised for a win.

He added that “the players are of the believe that wether the game is played in rain or sun” they’re by crook going to emerge victorious after the game.

The GFA Communications Director moreover underscored the need for the players to be self motivated since there’s nothing better than representing their country at the world stage.

He also highlighted that, though the head coach of South Africa, Hugo Brooks, seeks to divert attention with his questioning of why the game was scheduled to be play at a favourite grounds for the Ghanaians, black stars will take all three points as did against Zimbabwe.

Coach Milovan Rajevac (Right) with Ghana’s left back, Baba Raman.

That notwithstanding, a win for Milovan Rajevac’s side against the Wailia ibex of Ethopia will give Ghana some hope of beating South Africa in Cape Coast next week in the last round of matches in quest to qualify for the playoff.

Ghana is in the meantime a point behind leaders South Africa on the table with nine points.
