On the part of the assemblyman of Anweabeng Electoral area, Mr. Ossew Akrofi Junior, he admonised farmers in the various municipalities especially the host community to attend and show their farm produce on the faithful day since it could be a perfect ground to generate income through sales and to also exhibit their output in the agriculture sector.

Farmers day in Ghana is organized and celebrated under the auspices of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (MoFAD).

The Nationwide event (Farmers’ Day) was instituted by late president Jerry John Rawlings-led Provisional National Defence Council in 1985 and has since been observed every first Friday in December to recognize and appreciate the substantial contribution of farmers and agriculture production to the socio-economic development of the Country following the 1983 famine.
