The Akuse Police Command in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region has arrested a fetish priest and his messenger for allegedly stealing tilapia from a fish pond at Kpong.
The fetish priest, Natervi, 42, and his 47-year-old messenger, Francis Wormernu popularly known as ‘Taller’, were allegedly caught red-handed on Monday night December 20, 2021 in the act.
Narrating the incident to Omanba Kwadwo Boafo of Rite FM, the owner of the farm, Dr. Jerryson Gidisu who doubles as the President of Kings and Queens Group of Companies, said he visited the farm at about 10:30pm and spotted the two stealing the tilapia.
According to him, stealing from his farm has become a continuous habit by perpetrators in the area, adding that some weeks ago some of his poultry fowls were stolen from the same farm as well as plastic chairs.
This, he said prompted him to play a watchdog role to fish out the culprits who had made stealing from his farms a habit thus, leading to the apprehension of the suspects.

He stressed that upon interrogations the accused persons claimed ownership of the net, bucket and other materials found at the pond but had no involvement on how the net got laid in the pond for the robbery.
