Head Coach of Ghana Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac, has said he has unfinished business with the team and hence is not in the position to resign from his post despite a disastrous group-stage exit in the ongoing 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

Ghana lost 3-2 to debutant Comoros who were tasting their maiden continental showpiece.

Speaking to journalists in a post-match interview, Milovan Rajevac stated that his focus had been to qualify the team for the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup thus he is staying to accomplish his target despite the heartbreak.

“I will not resign, because I came to take this team to the World Cup,” the Serbian said.

He further accepted that though the team did not start the game on a brighter note, Andrew Ayew’s early red card affected the team generally.

“We didn’t start the game against Comoros how we wanted and we conceded an early goal. It was a poor start for us and then the red card to Andre Ayew changed everything. I think Comoros deserved this win because they played very well than us,” he observed.

Coach Milovan Rajevac was reappointed as head coach in September 2021 after his first stay from 2008-2010 where he led the team to play in the 2010 AFCON final and a quarter-final place at the FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa.
