Pay my GH¢30K royalties so I can clear my tax debts – Shatta Wale tells GHAMRO

Shatta Wale says he is expecting to be paid royalties accrued from Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), so he can use it to clear taxes owed the state.

The musician, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, posted on social media that his accrued royalties with GHAMRO are in excess of GH¢30,000 which could help clear his tax debt with the Ghana Revenue Authority.

He wrote, “ I will use it to pay my tax cuz the way GRA is on my neck like a thief I haven’t seen some before!!!”

The chairman of GHAMRO, Rex Omar, is reported to have said that Shatta Wale had over GH¢30,000 with the organisation and was waiting for the management of the artist to provide account details so they could pay him his money.

However, the ‘Melisa’ hitmaker has urged GHAMRO not to give his money to any representative as a manager because he has no management. He said he would be there himself to take the money in person for the filing of his tax.

According to him, GRA has been giving him so much pressure and this money will serve as a receipt so they know he does not make much from music.
