The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin South in the Central Region, Felicia Ntrakwah Amissah, has extended an illustrious generosity to brilliant but needy tertiary students in the area.

She also offered financial support to two other Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) within her district.

The donation was to encourage the beneficiary nursing training student who was on the brink of differing her course due to financial constraints, to achieve her academic aspirations.

For the PWDs, their financial support was to give them the needed capital to start a business to make them economically viable to enable them to provide for their needs.

Madam Felicia Ntrakwah Amissah, said her gesture was to cushion the student in ensuring her academic user fees and other related needs were met to give her a sound mind for studies.

According to her, free education is not only a metric of access to education but also a quality human resource to produce confidence, and skills to compete with their peers.

For her, the intervention is hinged on improving human capital drive.

She also reiterated her commitment to the promotion of quality education across the district by ensuring equal access and opportunities to all regardless of one’s location, political inclination, ethnicity and gender.

She touted the NPP government’s achievements in the education sector, outlining various policies instituted to enhance teaching and learning outcomes, policies such as free education.

She pleaded with the beneficiary to use the money allocated to them judiciously to achieve the intended purpose, thereby bringing socio-economic relief to themselves, families, and communities at large.

She used the opportunity and encouraged teenage girls in the constituency to eschew negative practices such as teenage pregnancy that could be a hindrance to their success but make education a priority to achieve their full potential.

The beneficiaries thanked the DCE for her kind gesture and prayed for God’s guidance and protection for her.

They assured her that the monies would be put to good use for the purpose it is intended for.
