Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s planned trip to Turkey to continue their preseason tour has been cancelled, the club has confirmed.
According to the management of the club, its decision to rescind the planned trip became necessary due to visa issues.
The Ghanaian Champions had scheduled to travel to the European country for the second phase of their pre-season. They scheduled a friendly match against Nigerian side Rivers United as part of the tour.
But the club in a communique on Sunday, August 21, 2022, said, “Our planned trip to Turkey for the second phase of our preseason has been cancelled due to issues related to delays in visa acquisition.”
With the effects of the changes, the porcupine warriors confirmed a trip to Sudan where they’ll depart Ghana today for the second phase of their pre-season.
They are expected to spend ten days in Sudan in preparation towards the 2022/23 Ghana football season.
“The club has therefore opted to travel to Sudan from 21st August 2022 to 1st September 2022 for the second phase of our preseason.”
“We will be engaged in strategic friendly games with other opponents who have qualified for CAF competitions,” the club’s official communique added.
The two-time African champions are expected to take on Sudanese powerhouse Al-Hilal Omdurman on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 as part of its preseason friendly.
