Retired Police Commissioner, COP George Alex Mensah has disclosed that he has always nursed an ambition to serve the people of his home constituency, Asante Bekwai in Parliament.
In an interview on Angel Morning Show on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, COP Mensah said after serving Ghana for years in Police uniform, he feels it is time to also ensure that the people from his hometown also benefits directly from him.
‘’I have served the Police Service and I have served Ghana as well. Now, it is time for me to serve my constituency, Ashanti-Bekwai. That is my main reason for vying for the MP portfolio,” COP Mensah said.
The retired officer further stated his intention to continue the legacy of first Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu through the creation of employment opportunities for the youth in Asante Bekwai.
COP Alex Mensah was full of praise for Joe Wise who has represented the people of Asante Bekwai since 2012.
‘’We need an experienced person to drive the name of Asante Bekwai because Joe Wise (Joseph Osei-Owusu) has pushed the name of Asante Bekwei very far. I will create job opportunities for the youth in Ashanti Bekwai when given the power,” COP Mensah said.
