Kidnapped Church of Pentecost Deacon in South Africa freed

A Deacon of the Church of Pentecost whjo was kidnapped during a robbery attack in Johannesburg, South Africa last Sunday has been freed.

Angelonline.com.gh understands that the victim was freed on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, and has since been re-united with his family.

The Johannesburg Assembly of the Church was attacked by some suspected armed robbers during a live service on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

The congregants were robbed of their valuables.

Ghana’s High Commission in South Africa after the incident promised that the Mission was working closely with the security agencies to secure the release of the Deacon.

This was followed by a 3-day fasting and prayers which began on October 31 and will end on November 2 for God to intervene and save the Deacon.

Announcement of his release was contained in a statement released by the church and signed by the chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye.

Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Eswatini (Swaziland), Lesotho, Mauritius and Seychelles, Charles Owiredu confirmed the release of the Deacon.

“He is with his family now,” he posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday, November 1.
