Aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for Fanteakwa Constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freeman Ofori Agyarko, has lamented over the level of under-development of the constituency located in the heart of the Eastern Region.

Speaking with Kojo Oppong Kyeremeh, an anchor of the Angel Morning Show (AMS), Mr Ofori Agyarko said Fanteakwa Constituency has lacked developmental projects for the past two to three years now and this has greatly affected the constituency.

He attributed this to the lack of a Presiding Member at the Fanteakwa North District Assembly for all these years.

“There are no developmental projects ongoing in the constituency, because there hasn’t been any Presiding Member in the district for the past two years…,” he said.

He continued that the absence of a Presiding Member has led to the mismanagement of the Internally Generated Funds (IGF) of the Assembly as no one renders an account to anyone concerning the taxes taken for that purpose.

“No one bothers to render accounts of the IGF to anyone in the constituency because there is no Presiding Member in the Fanteakwa Constituency, this has led to the lack of developmental projects in the constituency…I think it is high time we are given one…,” he said.
