Fasting and Praying are not important – Osofo Kyiri Abosom

The Founder and Leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Dr. Christian Kwabena Andrews, has called for partnerships with Independent Candidates for the 2024 Presidential election.

He believes a partnership with Allan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng and Nana Kwame Bediako also known as Cheddar, and the smaller political parties, will give the two biggest political parties in the country [National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party] a run for their money.

The former employee of the Ghana Education Service’s call followed a question posed to him by host of the Angel Morning Show, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah on whether his religious fanatism would not prevent any move of his willingness to partner with any political leader ahead of the contest for the presidency seat.

According to Osofo Kyiri Abosom as affectionally called, by doing so, will enable them to take over from the NPP and NDC to put an end to duopoly they have enjoyed over the years in Ghana’s political history.

“I subscribe to such an idea, and I strongly believe that as time goes on it will happen…. Even if at any point in time, I get someone who is popular and can lead me to follow, I am okay,” he told Katakyie Afrifa-Mensah on the Angel Morning Show.

He added: “My interest is in salvaging Ghana’s situation and not just becoming a President because, NDC and NPP do not have good intentions for Ghana; rather, they have selfish thoughts. But we are more nationalistic, and that is why we are called the Ghana Union Movement with the intention to unify everyone.”

In his presentation, his ability to emerge as the third force in the 2020 general elections proves his political strength, therefore, there is a need for other small parties to rally behind him to unseat the NPP and NDC.
