Founder and Head Pastor of the Glorious World Power Ministries International, Reverend Owusu Bempah, and three others have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for attacking personnel of the service who were at his church premises to arrest him on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

The three other suspects include, Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene, and Nathaniel Agyekum.

According to the Ghana Police the arrest follows “creation and circulation of multiple videos containing threats, and the brandishing of a weapon and the assault of some police personnel.”

A statement signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs, ACOP Kwesi Ofori, indicated that, “after critically analyzing the said video and based on intelligence gathered, the police embark on an operations today Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the premises of the church to arrest the suspects.”

“During the operation, some members of the church, believed to have been under the direction of Reverend Bempah assaulted some police officers” the statement added.

The suspects, according to the police, shall appear before court today, Monday, September 13, 2021.

The release however warned the general public over engaging in acts that will disturb the peace of the country.
