Former Head of Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu, has alleged that IGP arrested Rev. Owusu-Bempah to settle some personal ‘spiritual’ scores.

Speaking on the matter on Angel FM’s Anↄpa Bↄfoↄ morning show on September 16, 2021, he said that the IGP intends to use the clergyman as a scapegoat by denying him bail and making sure that he is ‘dealt’ with.

“… a close source to Dampare informed me that Charles you don’t know what is happening but the IGP is a vengeful person and has a personal vendetta against Owusu-Bempah. The source told me that Dampare intends to settle some personal scores with Owusu-Bempah for speaking against his spiritual father [who happens to be the late Prophet T.B Joshua]”.
Charles Owusu confessed that he initially didn’t understand what Owusu Bempah had done to the IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to merit such unfair treatment however, the revelation from the source clarified issues.
According to him, the Reverend was handcuffed to the hospital bed under the instruction of the IGP despite the presence of an armed policeman by his bedside.
The leader of Glorious Power Word Ministries International fell ill shortly after an Accra Circuit Court denied him bail following his arrest. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment by the Ghana Police.
He said that despite the clergyman’s ill health, the police took off his drip and took him back to the police cells.
