Aide to Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International (GWPMI), Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, has been arrested, the Ghana Police Service has announced.
Bright Berchie, 30, was arrested in connection with the reported misunderstanding that ensued some weeks ago at the GWPMI premises between church members and officers from the Ghana Police Service.
A notice issued to the public on the development indicated that during the altercation in question, Bright issued death threats to the officers and was also in possession of a “firearm without lawful authority”.
“The suspect was seen in a widely circa Ted video brandishing a weapon and issuing threats of death to police officers and other persons” the statement issued on September 28, 2021 added.
Being charged for these offences, the Director of Public Affairs, Superintendent Alexander Kwaku Obeng said the suspect will be arraigned before court.
