Simon Kweku Tetteh gets 97% endorsement at Lower Manya Krobo

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region have on September 29, 2021 massively endorsed the nomination of Simon Kweku Tetteh as its Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

He was renominated by President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after serving in the same position in the first term of the New Patriotic Party government.

At the polls for his confirmation, out of 43 Assembly Members who took part in the exercise, 42 of them representing 97 per cent voted to prove his nomination while 1 appeared as a rejected vote.

He was then sworn-in by Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong as the MCE of the area, after attaining the required two-thirds of the total votes cast by assembly members present in accordance with the Article 243 (1) of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution and section 20(1) of the Local Government Act 2016, (Act 936).

In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, the Local Government Minister, Dan Kweku Botwe; Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong; the Manya Krobo Traditional Council and residents of the area for having trust in him to serve his people for the second term in office.

He then promised to remain modest in carrying his day to day mandates and to also operate a transparent administration and called for maximum cooperation from the assembly members and staff for the advancement of the area.

“I pledge to remain your humble servant as I call on your continuous support to achieve a better and prosperous Lower Manya Krobo Municipality for the next generation” he expressed happily.

In continuation, the former tutor of Manya Krobo Senior High School (MAKROSEC), Simon Kweku Tetteh urged all for their hands on desk to complement his vision to improve upon the already completed and ongoing infrastructure and human resource development of the municipality.
