President Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has said the dedication of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led administration to the indigenes of the Ashanti Region has been delivered according to their promises.

According to him, during an interview on Kumasi base pure FM’s morning show, the Ashanti Region has been a beneficiary of the works of his government.

His comments were in reaction to a question on the assertion that the NPP government has neglected their party’s strong hold [Ashanti Region] in terms of developmental projects.

Rejecting the claim, he noted that the evidence of his government’s works is dotted across the region.

‘’No I don’t accept that, I mean NPP commitment to Ashanti’s is both word and deed. I don’t have any doubt about that. So I will not accept that view because is not the reality and I think anybody who goes around this place and open his/her eyes and be objective will see that is not the reality at all’’ he told the host Kwame Adinkra on day four of his tour to the Ashanti Region on Monday, October 4, 2021.

President Akufo Addo stated further that, even though his administration is putting all effort in to give Ghanaians the best, infrastructural development has been very slow nationwide making it a subject of discussion for the masses, but said there are many major projects ongoing in the Ashanti Region which will be completed in due time.

That notwithstanding, the first gentleman of the land indicated that the alleged claims have become something the opposition National Democratic Congress party usually portrays around to make Ghanaians believe the NPP has disappointed the indigenes of the Ashanti’s.

‘’So it seems like we are disappointing the Ashantis and that is what they are trying to say. Yeah, this is our base, they give us our vote but we don’t do anything for them. These are NDC’s usual talk’’ President Akufo Addo added.
