The Police Command in Adeiso in the Upper West Akyem District in the Eastern Region has busted the alleged hardcore armed robber and murderer.
The suspect, Godstrong Tetteh, who has been on the police wanted list was arrested on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his hideout in Adeiso.
He became wanted by the police for his alleged involvement in murder, car-snatching and violent land guard activities.
Meanwhile, he was recently spotted in a viral video on social media, where he was brandishing a pistol.
Confirming the arrest the police said “the police today, 20th October, 2021, arrested a dangerous armed robbery and murder suspect, Godstrong Tettey, at Adeiso in the Eastern Region”
“As indicated a short while ago, below is the widely circulated video in which the dangerous armed robbery and murder suspect, Godstrong Tettey( who Has been arrested) was brandishing a pistol” they posted.
Following his arrest by police intelligence, items such as as two pump action guns, one locally manufactured pistol, and one new foreign-manufactured pistol were retrieved from him.
Police say he will be put before court for prosecution.
They noted that the operation forms part of the police administrations’ resolve to weed out criminals from society such as intelligence-led preventive policing and strategic operations.
The police then used the opportunity to thank Ghanaians for their support in fighting crime in the country and urged them to volunteer information on criminal activities.
