The Executive Director for KABAKA foundation, Mr. Henry Lartey, has stated that the foundation is more keen on declining societal challenges confronting the majority of the Ghanaian people.

Mr. Lartey, who held a one-on-one interview with Kwame Koranteng on Anɔpa Dawuro on Republic Fm on October 29, 2021, revealed that the foundation has seven modus of operandi, ranging from Health, Sanitation and Social intervention.

“Our paramount agenda is social intervention. Usually, we scout for projects but we give opportunity for people to write to us. But then, our main concern is addressing social intervention. We strictly donates to orphanages and street children.

“The chairman and founder is known for these things”, he told Kwame Koranteng on the programme which was aired and transmitted live from the official residence of Mr. Richard Nana Kwasi Wadie at Kwahu Nkwatia.

The rest of the areas are Education, Economic empowerment, Disability rehabilitation program, environmental and water issues.

Touching on the area of sanitation, Director recounted that, the foundation has a priority of helping to solve environmental sanitation problems.

According to him, the sanitation project will begin from schools within the Kwahu Nkwatia enclave, including Kwahu Nkwatia Police station, basic schools, the Nkwatia Chief Palace, markets and the two secondary schools in the Nkwatia area.

He added that, dustbins will be provided to all the various institutions to help drive away filth, thereby improving sanitation in the country.

“For the mean time, we will start with institutions in kwahu. We will tackle the Nkwatia Chief Palace, basic schools, Nkwasco and St Peter’s secondary school, markets and the Police station”, he added.

With health been a second priority, Mr. Lartey noted that the KABAKA Foundation commissioned a neonatal intensive care unit building at the Koforidua Regional Hospital in September. The foundation last year also commissioned a police bungalow in Nkwatia.

He revealed that the foundation is also embarking on economic empowerment by giving a vocational and technical support to the needy to create something on their own.

The foundation which started two years ago as a non-formal Organization subsequently got registered at the registrar’s General department. Now classified as formal Organization with proper structures being put in place, it has been executing a number of extensive projects since June 2021.

Meanwhile, the foundation will unveil the artistic impression of the construction of a classroom block for the Nkwatia R/C basic school which has been in a deplorable state for long.

It will also distribute educational resources such as exercise books, pencils and other materials.
