Ghanaian afropop musician, Wendy Shay, has announced her readiness to vote for any political party that would lift the ban on celebrity endorsement of alcoholic beverages.

According to her, musicians have lost a lot deals since the ban on celebrity endorsement of alcohol beverages was enforced by the government therefore, she would advise herself and vote for the party that would reverse the ban on celebrity endorsement of alcohol and betting companies come 2024.

“Now we can’t even get alcohol and betting companies to sponsor our shows. 2024 my vote will be for any party that will lift the Ban!”

Musicians are not supposed to be poor
But in this country if God does not step in you’ll die poor
Now we can’t even get Alcohol and Betting companies to sponsor our shows
2024 my vote will be for any party that will lift that Ban! #musicianslivesmatters #lifttheban

Earlier in 2020, the singer attacked the Food and Drugs Authority over the same issue complaining that she lost a huge endorsement deal worth thousands of dollars because of the ban which was imposed five years ago.

She added that “small food we go chop too u wan take 4rm our mouth. Gh celebs wake up!! FDA lift dat ban!!”

However, the FDA replied the musician, saying it has no interest in blocking endorsement deals of celebrities but rather protecting the youth from alcohol abuse.
