The Ghana Premier League (GPL) team Asante Kotoko has marked its second away game in Bibiani with three points as it registered a 1-0 victory over Bibiani Goldstars on Friday afternoon.

It took Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side 55th minutes to open the scoring and perhaps what proves to become match winner after talented youngster Isaac Oppong had hit the back of the net with a superb curler from outside the box.

The results means the porcupine warriors have recorded a straight three wins out of three matches, after the hard-fought victory over the newly promoted side in the ongoing 2021/22 GPL season.

By their three wins, the fabulous have taken over the top spot on the league table, with 9 points sitting above city rivals King Faisal who host Obuasi Ashanti Gold on Sunday.

The home side which was playing in front of their atmospheric Duns park came in strongly in an attempt to get equalizer but saw their dream far from becoming a reality.

They threw more men upfront and created numerous goal scoring opportunities but Razak Abalora was up to the task making some crucial saves to deny them a goal let alone a point.

This also means Kotoko has ended Goldstars’ unbeaten home run of 15 matches at the Duns park, after winning 12 and drawing 3.
