Ga East : NADMO removes shops operating close to electric poles

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has embarked on an exercise to remove shops operating close to electricity poles.

The exercise took effect on Wednesday November 17, 2021 and affected places were within the Ga East Municipality and Dome Kwabenya enclave.

This follows an earlier caution from the NADMO Director for Ga East Municipal Assembly, Seth Kofi Osei-Kissi, for shop owners close to ECG poles to vacate.

Mr. Seth Kofi Osei-Kissi, in an interview with Angelonline.com.gh on Friday November 12, 2021, gave the directive that all container shops situated around electricity poles in the Dome Kwabenya community and the Ga East Municipality at large, are to be removed by a November 16, 2021 deadline.

The Ga East NADMO director indicated that the continuous springing up of shops together with their activities around electricity poles poses a danger to all as this may result in fire outbreaks causing destruction to human lives and properties.
