The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako says the opposition parties particulaerly the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not deceive the people of Ghana again in the 2024 elections.
According to the Chairman known popularly as Wontumi, the NDC took advantage of the internal wrangling that occurred between the ruling government in prior to the 2008 elections up to 2012 elections.
“The other parties lied because there was disunity among us” he said when he was speaking at the National Delegates Conference, held at the Heroes Park adjacent the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
He said the opposition parties particularly the NDC cannot any longer deceive the electorates because now the party is formidable and a “movement” which is aimed at remaining in government and to break the 8-year jinx.
The National Chairman of the Party Freddie Blay, alluding to the comments passed by Chairman Wontumi urged the people to continue to remain in unity and work towards retaining power in 2024.
“We ourselves have to b united; we ourselves have to be standing so that the people can vote for us” he urged.
