Stonebwoy asks: ‘Did we only come into the world to look for money?’

Ghanaian Reggae-Dance hall artiste, Stonebwoy, has questioned the essence of the existence of humanity on earth.

In a recent post on his Twitter handle, Stonebwoy seemed worried about how everything in Ghana has been limited to the quest to make money.

The question comes at a time when the economy of the country Ghana has been described by many commentators as being in tatters with the government of the day bearing the brunt of the severe criticisms.

This is typified by the high rate of unemployment, together with the poor conditions of service many government workers have lamented about, resulting in industrial actions among others.

Also, as reported by this website earlier, a Prison officer at the Ankaful Maximum Prisons indicated that about 70% of inmates in their facility is made of youth, and a majority of them are sentenced on the charges of armed robbery.

According to him, the situation is due to the lack of employment to get them into meaningful works to earn decent salaries.

“They are not employed and you know that ‘the devil finds work for the idle hands.’ Therefore not finding work to do and wanting to survive, they engage in robbery activities.

“So majority of the convicts are armed robbers,” said the Assistant Director at Ankaful Maximum Prison, Edward Eshun, on the Anopa Bofoↄ morning show.

In respect of these situations, the “1 Gad” singer posed the question to his followers whether life in the world is all about money.

Now life looks like we only came to find money on earth? 🤷🏿

This question elicited various reactions from his followers. With over 10K likes and 2K retweets from the fans and followers, some responded to it as follows:

That's how it's looks like but money can't substitute life, money is part of surviving Genesis 3:19"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Our culture today has substantially focused on unrealistic positive expectations. You have to get big cars and house's is a must! You have to be better than everybody….etc. competition everywhere.

@Killianovic shared:

That's how it looks like in Ghana, in some other parts of the world, people are busy trying to save life on this planet, dinasaurs lived over 250 million years on this earth 🌎, we've been here for just about 3 million years but it seems we won't survive the next 1000 years.

All attention have been shift to making money the priority. Celebs and some of the youth flaunting their wealth on socials putting pressure on the youth.

@CharismaBright added his thought:

This is exactly how you feel when you finally make the money you've always dream of. I use to do double work, I recently quit my night job and am just not happy. The body is so addicted to tiredness, I see relaxation as laziness! 🥺🥺.
But the Lord will help us🙏🙏
