The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute (AMI), Koku Anyidoho, has declared that he does not have any godfather in the National Democratic Congress.

According to him, the only person who can own him is God and no one else.

Koku Anyidoho explained that though it is good to have mentors, he does not have godfather in the NDC because some people “love to own people”, a situation he is not fond of.

Speaking on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoↄ Morning Show on Wednesday, he stated that “my personal commitments and passion are very personal and has got nothing to do with anybody. I don’t have any godfather in the NDC. Perhaps that is my challenge because some people think they should own you…the only person who can own me is God”.

He added that he models his life around people and he has mentors in his life including the late Flt. Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings.

However, he quickly indicated that his mentors don’t control his destiny or have the power to dictate his life for him. “If you ask me to do something and I eventually obey, it is because my system agrees to that not necessarily because you instructed me to,” he stressed.

Touching on the legacies of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, he noted that his association with the PNDC, NDC is very personal to him.

“Nobody can lay claim to that personal affinity to Atta Mills. Nobody can lay claim to it…anybody who says it anywhere is just saying it to excite themselves”.

The Former NDC General Secretary further stated that he chose to resign from his well-paid bank job to join the campaign team of ex-president Atta Mills upon an invitation from the latter.

Narrating how he was called, he said that it was a Monday after his routine morning devotion and Prof. Mills called him saying that he needed him to be part of his three-man campaign team.

“Koku, you know I just want not more than three people on my campaign team. I am contesting flagbearership again and I want you to be part of it. I’ve been observing you, you are articulate, you write well, you are meticulous and well-brought up, I know your father and I used to play hockey with him…I think you can help me win an election in this country…”, President Mills said on the phone.

He agreed to work for the late president even when he was told he would not be paid for quitting his bank job on one condition.

Koku Anyidoho said that he pleaded for the trust of President Mills in order to work for him and in turn he agreed to work for him even at his own peril.

A very emotional Koku Anyidoho dared his detractors to stop trying to damage the brand, which he has toiled to build, out of jealousy.

“Here today at Angel FM…I’ve used the bible and I have issued a warning if anybody dares to joke with me again over this Atta Mills thing…”

He again said that people don’t know the altars he prays on so those trying to ran him down because they have been paid to do so will die.
