Ex Accra Heats of Oak top defender, Daniel Quaye has hinted that the Black Stars will need miracle to overcome Nigeria in March’s 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs

Ghana take on their ‘Super Eagles’ opponents in a two legged make or break tie for a place in Qatar slated for November 21 – December 18 this year.

However, the former Ghanaian international believes the ‘Stars’ can only qualify at the expense of the ‘Eagles’ on miracle basis because the team lacks quality.

“Ghana will need a miracle to qualify ahead of Nigeria because we don’t have quality. This home and away clash will be difficult for Ghana to progress” he expressed.

The 41-year-old also indicated that although Nigeria was knockout in the round of 16 stage at the just ended 2021 AFCON held in Cameroon, Nigeria had players who are hungrier for success than Ghana.

“Though Nigeria exited the tournament at round 16 but you could see their players are more determined to die for their nation unlike ours” he told Bryt FM in an interview monitored by Angelonline.com.gh.

Ghana host Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 24 in the first leg before they travel for the reverse fixture on Sunday March 27, 2022.

Ghana seeks for a fourth appearance at the FIFA World Cup tournament after 2006, 2010 and 2014 whiles Nigeria chases their seventh appearance having played in the 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014 and 2018 tournaments.
