Politicians’ stance on E-levy must be mutually beneficial to Ghanaians – Rev. Dr. Apenkwa Brown

The Assin Fosu Chairman for Local Council of Churches, Rev. Dr. John Kwame Apenkwa Brown, has urged government to consider the interest of Ghanaians in the introduction of the e-levy.

He disclosed that no government can develop the country without taxes however, any decision regarding the levy must be of benefit to Ghanaians.

According to him, the majority and minority in Parliament must decide on the e-levy and do what will be mutually beneficial to Ghanaians in general.

The Chairman, who doubles as the head pastor for Assemblies of God Church, Assin Fosu branch said, every government seeks to develop the country in all dimensions and that can only be accomplished through tax and proper policies.

Speaking to Angel News he implored Ghanaians to understand the government and pay the e-levy.

He stated that when former President Kuffour’s administration introduced VAT the NDC were against it. Surprisingly they didn’t cancel that when they were given the mandate to rule the country.

He concluded that our objective is to develop as a country and embracing what will be helpful and be beneficial.
