Ghanaian International, Thomas Partey will be sidelined for some weeks following a thigh injury he sustained on his right leg on Monday, April 4, 2022 during his side English Premier League outstanding fixture against Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old midfielder was substituted and replaced by Albert Sambi Lokonga in the Gunners 3-0 away defeat at the Selhurst Park.

A statement on update of the injury from the club indicated that Partey will be out of action for the coming weeks as they continue to assess the extent of the injury.

“Our No. 5 was substituted during Monday night’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after aggravating his right thigh. Thomas has since received further assessments, and a subsequent scan has shown muscle damage to his right thigh.

“We will continue to assess Thomas in the coming weeks, during which time he will also receive further specialist consultations. Everyone will be working hard to get Thomas back on the pitch as soon as possible” a club statement said.

Thomas Partey missed Arsenal’s weekend fixture against Brighton And Hove Albion and will like miss other subsequent matches.

The Black Stars deputy captain who joined Arsenal from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2020 has become an integral member of the North London club, scoring two times in 48 appearances.
