Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has surged ahead of his keen contender, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, as the man to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 election.

According to a research conducted by Director of Research at the Presidency, Dr. Isaac Owusu Mensah, a national data collected tipped the Vice President to win over the Trade and Industry Minister.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up to elect its Presidential Candidate for the 2024 general elections with Dr. Bawumia-Alan Kyerematen being tipped as the front-runners to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoɔ morning show, the head of the research team at the presidency said the polls was conducted in all 16 regions of the country and per “the signals picked on the ground”, Dr. Bawumia tops the chart as favorite to succeed his predecessor.

Although, the party is yet to hold its Presidential and Parliamentary primaries, he indicated on the same platform that Ghanaian voters entrust their future in the NPP over the opposing National Democratic Congress going into the general elections.

On the question of whether voters believe the country is heading in the right or wrong direction, Dr. Isaac Owusu said despite some complaining of hardship and the imposing of too many taxes, most of them are pleased with the developmental projects by the ruling government.

He observed therefore that it gives the NPP a slim advantage over the NDC in the 2024 elections, based on their data collected.
