Gospel musician Joe Mettle says he has not responded to the utterances of his colleague, Patience Nyarko, because he has found no reason to do so especially because he does not “beef”.

According to the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year laureate, he is used to responding to criticisms in the form of giving results rather than engaging in verbal exchanges.

“If you tell me I don’t know how to do something, I correct that for your satisfaction rather than come and explain myself,” Joe Mettle said in an interview granted Kumasi-based Angel FM.

The reaction comes after Patience Nyarko put Joe Mettle on the spot claiming that he is “being over hyped”.

The comment of the “Obi nyane me” singer displeased many followers and lovers of their arts, who demanded that she apologises to her victim.

But in response to her critics, she remained unapologetic.

“I see no wrong with what I said to my brother. I have no apologies to render to my brother. Maybe the tone which I used at that time may mean something else.
“Joe being truthful may admit that he is being hyped and he doesn’t deserve that tag,” Patience Nyarko said.

According to the songstress her reactions were occasioned by a claim that Joe Mettle was the best gospel artiste to represent Ghana internationally.

“I don’t have any personal banter between my brother and myself. I only overreacted when I was told in an interview that of all the gospel acts in the country it is only Joe that could represent Ghana.

“I only disagreed with how OB Nartey rated brother Joe. It was a great disrespect to the Ghanaian gospel industry. I was so worried and very offended and that was all I was trying to address.”

Yet, Joe Mettle has remained unaffected by her comments.

He said “she’s the one who is affected by the issue, so give her time and she’ll be okay.”
