The Police Administration has promoted two cops for their role in effecting the arrest of one Sgt Lotsu Agbeko for possessing substances believed to be Indian hemp.

The two officers, to be elevated are Inspector Azumah Komla Justice and Cpl Felix Diameh.

A statement issued by the police on Tuesday, June, 14 June 2022, and signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Grace Ansah Akrofi acknowledged the two officers for exhibiting “patriotism, vigilance, and dedication to duty.”

Explaining the development leading to the arrest, the police said “the suspect G/Sgt Lotsu Agbeko failed to stop at the Have Police barrier when he was signaled by the officers on duty to do so,”

“He was therefore given a chase and on reaching a section of the road on the Kpeve Mountain, he was involved in an accident and had a fracture on his left hand”, the police noted.

He was thus arrested and sent to the hospital for treatment and later transferred to the Police Hospital for further medical attention where he is under guard.

The police subsequently retrieved 84 parcels of compressed dried leaves, suspected to be Indian hemp from his car and retained them for investigations.
