Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum, has lost his father as he confirmed on Thursday morning.

The Premier League king for 2021/2022 sadly broke the news of his father who was a lecturer and mentor in his life on Twitter.

Prosper Nartey said he could not believe that the passing of Dr Lamptey, as he affectionately called him, meant not setting eyes on him again.

“Hmm, it was extremely difficult to accept you are no more. Oh death!” he wrote on the social media platform.

Nothing he could do but rather ask the creator to accept his father in his bosom. “Rest well my father, lecturer, and mentor, Dr. Lamptey, da yie. You will forever be in my heart,” the coach added.

The cause of Dr Lamptey’s death has not been disclosed to the public, however, his funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the warrior king Prosper Nartey has helped Asante Kotoko by grabbing the Ghana Premier League title after seven years of a trophyless journey.

He will therefore proceed to the CAF Champions League next season with the club.

The coach has been described as ‘super’ in the league since he arrived at the club.
