Head Coach of the Black Galaxies, Annor Walker is confident his side will beat bitter rivals Nigeria, to qualify for next year’s 2023 Championship of African Nations (CHAN).

Ghana is expected to take on Nigeria at 16:00GMT at the Cape Stadium on Sunday, August 28, 2022. They qualified for this round after recording a 4-0 win aggregate over Benin.

The Ghanaian team having failed to qualify for the previous tournaments hosted in  Rwanda, Morocco and Cameroon, would be hoping to break that jinx.

Speaking ahead of the game, Coach Annor Walker has indicated although the tie against Nigeria is a hard nut to crack, the Black Galaxies will fight the Nigerians tooth and nail for the spot and return to the tournament.

“We are playing Nigeria on Sunday and I must say we are ready for the game. It will be a tough game but we are prepared and I am confident that we will qualify for the CHAN tournament next year,” the former Accra Great Olympics tactician said.

The 2023 edition of the CHAN tournament to be hosted in Algeria, is scheduled from January 8 to January 31.
