Hours after the arrest of Ellembelle District Chief Executive together with three others, council to Mr Kwasi Bonzo has been denied access to the client.

Lawyer Salomey Erica Abeka said she has been to the police headquarters twice to see her client, Mr Bonzo but all efforts to make contact with him proved futile.

This was after she heard about the DCE’s apprehension in the media and headed to the Police headquarters in Sekondi Takoradi to ascertain circumstances that led to the arrest, to plead for bail for him.

“I was told he was brought here [Western Regional Headquarters], so I came to ensure that his liberty is assured and that he goes home to be with his family; he doesn’t have to spend more time here than he should.”

Mr Kwasi Bonzo the Ellembelle DCE was arrested together with Francis Apene the Ellembelle NPP Constituency Secretary, Jeff Assuah of Esiama constituency communication team member of the Ellembelle NPP, and Ellembelle DCE’s driver known as Podosky.

Their arrest was effected after Mr Bonzo allegedly instructed thugs to attack and obstruct police officers who were deployed to search for and retrieve a missing excavator.
