Man in viral video flogging toddler arrested at Jasikan

Reports available to angelonline.com.gh have it that the unknown man who was seen flogging a toddler in a viral video has been arrested by the police.

The suspect, Richard Kofi, according to a publication sighted on TheFourthEstateGh, was arrested on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at about 3: 00 p.m.

He was reportedly picked up at Akaa Buem, a suburb at Jasikan in the Oti Region.

This comes after the police on Tuesday, October 4, declared wanted the suspect believed to be the father of the toddler, and place a whopping GHC2,000 bounty on him.

In the 1:18 minute video, the little boy was heard crying helplessly although the cause of the unprovoked attack is yet to be established.

Meanwhile, the suspect’s wife who lives in a house separate from the husband was reportedly picked up along with the husband to assist in investigations.

However, the child who was rescued from the suspect’s house has been placed in the care of the police whiles investigation continues.
